Samuel's 1st Sleepover

Samuel's best friend from school came over last night for their very first sleep over. It was Samuel's first time to have a friend over and Logan's first time to sleep over at a friends house. They had a blast! And there were no tears at bedtime!

They played Wii and spent a lot of time playing in Samuel's room with their Bakugans.
They ate popcorn...
and watched some Scooby Doo.
Then came bedtime. They talked for over an hour before they finally fell asleep about 11 p.m.

And guess who was up at 7 a.m.!!
But they were both very well behaved and Samuel hasn't stopped asking yet when he can go to Logan's or Logan can come back to his house.

Christmas Day

Christmas night, Kevin's parents, brother and sister came for dinner and to exchange gifts. We had a huge dinner with way too much to eat.

I like cookbooks, Stacy likes books about dieting. LOL I heard about this book months ago on AIR1 and thought immediately about Stacy.
Kevin's surprise gift from his brother. Arkansas is playing in the Liberty Bowl on Jan. 2 and he got them tickets. The Liberty Bowl is in Memphis, so it's like a home game.
Delbert figuring out the gift we got him. It's a man's tool with like a dozen different gadgets including knives, pliers, wire cutters, etc.

Yes, Samuel's still in his PJs. I had to make him take them off the next morning!

Santa Came!!!

See...He even ate his cookies!
He brought Lego's to both of the boys.
Samuel said they weren't exactly the sets he asked for, but really liked them because they went together. He said he should have taken Santa the Lego catalog so he could have seen the one he really wanted.
Tyler's stocking. If you aren't familiar with Yo-Gabba-Gabba, this is Brobee from the show. Tyler loves him!
Samuel's stocking.
Big brother helping little brother open his gifts, although I'm sure little brother had it under control. Both of the boys got LeapFrog Tag Readers - and Kevin spent the rest of the day figuring out how in the world they worked. Pretty cool!
A gift from Tyler to Samuel. Samuel LOVES Zoobs! If you have a little boy - or need a boy gift - they are a great toy for those who like to build. Here in Jonesboro, J. Christopher Toys carries them.
And from Samuel to Tyler. It's Monkey that one person hides and it has a wand that lights up and makes a sound when you find it. Samuel wanted to get it so that he could hide it and Tyler could find it. Tyler just loves that it's a monkey.

I got Kevin and new Bible cover. He's wanted one for a long time and I really like this one. But it's a little too big. I'm hoping they have the same one in just a little bit smaller size!
And the boys (with mom's help!) got Daddy and Tornado Videos.net shirt. They are a group of storm chasers that Kevin's followed for a while, and now they are one of the teams on the Discovery show Storm Chasers. They wear this shirt on the show a lot. He was surprised to get one!
Momma and her boy.
Yes, I really wanted this. I've wanted one for a while and I can't wait to try it out. Wait - did I say that about mopping? I have A LOT of tile floor, so anything that makes it quicker, easier and cleaner is exciting to me! Plus - I have two boys - enough said.
Momma's Monkey. This boy seriously likes monkey's! He was as excited about the hat and mittens and any other present he got. Oh, and he doesn't say monkey yet, they are called Ooh-Oohs.
And the mess after the fun. I let Daddy clean it up while I make waffles and bacon.

Christmas Eve

Bathed, in our PJs and ready for Santa! Actually, we were ready to go to our Christmas Eve Service at church. It's a late service and all the kids wear their PJs. Samuel thinks it's so cool to get to wear your PJs to church!

I know I'm biased, but isn't he adorable! He has the sweetest face!
Doesn't he look like a character off Beetle Juice! This picture cracked up both up!
Now that's better!
One tradition in our family is to open a Christmas Eve gift. Something fun to play with while we wait for morning. Usually this is one gift they can both share. As they get older, this will probably change, but they loved this gift. Samuel kept thanking me all night.

Happy Birthday Jesus!

The week before Christmas, I found a silicone Christmas tree bakeware at Hobby Lobby half off. I thought the boys would enjoy making a Happy Birthday Jesus birthday cake that we could have that night with dinner. I used one box mix to make 2 cakes - but I think I should have made 3 because they split when I took them out to place on the cake server.
But with a little icing - who knew! Not a pretty icing job either, but it worked. And that is green icing, but you can't tell that real well in this picture. They each got to decorate their own cake. Tyler with a little help from Mommy. The decorating didn't last long, but it was fun for them.
They had red glaze icing, green, blue and red sugar sprinkles, chocolate and rainbow sprinkles, and little star sprinkles.
It didn't take Tyler long to realize it was more fun to pick the stars and icing back off to eat.

Samuel's Cake
Maybe not the prettiest, but the boys had fun and they tasted really good!
Christmas night when the family was here, I said "Oh, I forgot, we have Birthday cake." Kevin's sister Stacy quickly replied - "Who's birthday is it?" In a serious voice I replied "JESUS." She dropped her head and said "Oh yea." We all had a good laugh! Love you Stacy!
