began holding onto each other and bracing each other as they knocked and bumped into each other. When you looked down, you could see the bridge under you feet. Every some many steps, I would have to stop walking to get my balance so I could begin to walk again without falling over. As we made it from the large suspension bridge to the pillar bridge, the metal conectors banged together under our feet as you looked down through the bridge to the river below. I personally was releaved to make it to the more solid bridge. Later when I talked to a friend ahead of us in the walk, she said the bridge was not moving when they crossed. My mom sent me an article from the paper printed this week that said the bridge had in fact done what it was designed to do. The bridge is suppose to sway under such circumstances. But - I have already decided that next year I want to be in the front half of the walk!
The walk was made even more fun by my friend Marina joining me. It was nice to have someone to go with me and we had a good time. She and her husband James spent the previous night at my parents and James fished at my parents pond while we spent the morning walking. Thanks Marina for walking with me!
We also had the opportunity to worship in my home churches brand new building and worship center. It was a great weekend!
