STOP

Samuel read his first word Monday night as we read before bed. Now he has been able to read signs like Target, Burger King, Chick-Fil-A, etc. for a long time. Kevin and my other teacher friends call this word mapping where they recognize the logo. He has also been able to read his name. In fact, his teacher, Mrs. Rene' taught the entire class to read each others names. But for the first time while reading, he read a word. It was a brand new book from the library and he was looking at the first page. He spelled the word: S-T-O-P. I said good, what does that spell and he said "Stop." I was so excited for him. I know that partly comes from me sometimes saying "S-T-O-P, stop" when we pull up to Stop signs, but to me that means it's working. So yeah for Samuel! Now on to more words!
