Down on the Farm

Saturday turned into a day at the farm for us. Saturday afternoon the boys and I went to the ASU petting zoo. The boys got to see some large animals like a bull, a horse, sheep, donkeys, a turkey, and others I can't remember. Then they were able to pet baby pics, ducks and chicks, bunnies, goats, etc. Tyler is really an animal lover. He was so excited to touch all the babies. Then we went on a hayride around the ASU farm. Samuel loved the ride and Tyler was nearly beside himself when we went past the cows. He kept saying "Cow, Cow, Cow..." Then would say "Moo." I don't know why he was so excited about them, but it was funny.

The ASU petting zoo is held twice a year, in the fall and in the spring. ASU has a large farm and agriculture college where they raise animals to sell and they also raise crops that they use for experiments and to sell for biofuels. Originally ASU was started as an agriculture school and as a college to train teachers, so that is still a big part of the university.
After the petting zoo, we went to Chick-Fil-A for Cowboy Round-Up. Cindy at Chick-Fil-A said she didn't mean to plan it on the same day, but I told her it worked out great, it just fit all together.
Here's daddy and Tyler

Samuel got to ride a pony and a bull, sort of. The C.C. Sherrif's Dept. brought out horse swings made from barrels and bulls also made out of barrels. I thought they were really neat! Samuel and Tyler would love to have one of the horse swings.

Then the boys had barrel racing with stick horses. It was really funny and cute.

They also had a real horse the kids could sit on to take their picture, but Samuel wasn't interested in that. They also had a trailer with a few animals, but since we had just come from the petting zoo, that didn't interest Samuel much either. He said he had already seen a pig and a goat. LOL He did like playing horse shoes though. We may have to invest in a set for this summer. It was a fun day for two little boys!

Their shirts look so sweet on them! If you get an upclose photo of the two of them wearing them send it to me - or maybe of the blue. It looks like you all had a great day!
