This past weekend we layed to rest Kevin's Grandmother Goacher. After 101 years, she went to Heaven and rejoined Grandfather who went 24 years ago. While funerals are always difficult, it was such a time of celebration of someone who lived such a long, full life. Grandmother was a young wife and mother during the Great Depression, lived through 2 World Wars, lost a grandson in Vietnam, raised 8 children and lived by herself until just 9 months ago when she was moved to my in-laws home. This picture was taken last year at her 100th birthday party. She and Tyler are 99 1/2 years apart in age and I've often thought of all the changes she's seen in her life and wonder what will he see in his life. Samuel will always remember Great-Gran, but I know Tyler won't. But we have many pictures of the two of them and he will know that he had a grandmother that was 100 years old when she held him. I think that's such a neat thing.

10 Grandsons served as the pallbearers. This is Kevin (3rd) with his brother (4th) and two cousins Eldon (1st) and Brian (2nd).

Later that night, a group of the younger cousins went to dinner to visit. It's nice to see family you don't see very often, but we're hoping for a happier occasion next time.

Sadly, a cousin just 5 months older than Kevin passed the next day and we had her funeral today. It's been a long, hard weekend, but we take comfort in knowing that she's in Heaven with Grandma.
